Ⓘ What metals do you work in and what are their differences?
• STERLING SILVER: Budget-friendly, soft, does not hold fine detail well, tarnishes
• 10K WHITE GOLD: Bright white, 41.7% pure gold, moderately wear-resistant
• 10K YELLOW GOLD: Medium yellow, 41.7% pure gold, moderately wear-resistant
• 14K WHITE GOLD: White, 58.3% pure gold
• 14K YELLOW GOLD: Richer yellow color, 58.3% pure gold
• 18K WHITE GOLD: White, 75% pure gold
• 18K YELLOW GOLD: Rich yellow color, 75% pure gold
• PLATINUM: Silver-grey color, does not tarnish (often plated with rhodium to enhance the color of the metal)
NOTES: Gold and platinum are denser than the added alloys to enhance their color and durability. Consequently, the higher the gold content we use to make your ring, the more “solid” or weighty your ring will feel. In white metals, such as white gold and platinum, rhodium plating is often applied after manufacture to “brighten” the metal. For some applications, we have occasionally worked in brass or bronze.
